Everything is a FUNNEL
In the business world, funnels are too obvious to notice that they apply everywhere.
Sales funnels, for example, work like this: You email 500 people, 50 respond, 25 check out your product, 10 get a demo, and finally, 5 actually pull out their wallet. (That’s 1% conversion.)
To get the most people at the bottom of the funnel, either get more people at the top of the funnel or increase how many people make it through (aka the conversion rate).
Although you don’t always control both simultaneously, both are equally important.
Jack Conte, Patreon’s co-founder, called 15 doctors, and filtered out who can’t treat him and who don’t have appointments available. Faster than calling one doctor and waiting.
